The Ilias Karellas Troupe returns to the Megaron with a new production, an original educational activity for children of all ages, hosted at the Kokkalis Space from January to April every Saturday at 6 pm.
This time, the source of inspiration for the shadow actor and director Elias Karella is one of the most important components of a shadow theater performance, the sound. What is hidden behind the illuminated berth? How does a single person give his voice to so many different figures? How can all the sounds of the show be produced live and how are the sounds combined with the visual effects?
In the illuminated berth we will meet the giant figures of Karagiozis and his company and we will hear sounds of the past and the present, in a brand new show with intense rhythm and melodies that unlock the imagination of the young spectators. Music companion of Elias Karellas, Areti Ketime, who will enchant us with her voice and santouri. With them, the talented musicians Chara Tsalpara (accordion), Theodora Athanassiou (guitar / lafta) and the shadow player Nikolas Tzivelekis.
The performance “The sound of shadows” is part of the events of the cycle “The Children’s House – Educational activities”. The pre-sale for the first three shows (January 29, February 5 and 12) has started.
