In a recent appearance on SiriusXM’s The Howard Stern Show, Sarah Jessica Parker explained why she was “never comfortable” with nude scenes during her time on Sex and the City.

More specifically, she said that when she read the script for the series, she thought “it was really interesting, exciting, different and fresh”, but she was initially worried about how she would be able to step into the iconic role of Carrie Bradshaw.

The only thing I said to show creator Darren Star, as far as I was concerned, was that I just didn’t feel comfortable doing nudity, and I suspected that if it wasn’t in the original script, it would be a part at some point.“, said the actress specifically.

Despite the fact that the “Sex and the City” as a series, it identified with the sexual liberation of modern women and feminism, something the actress herself said she had never seen before – which initially made her hesitant to join the cast and say yes to the role because of that she was quite “shy”.
