An advertising campaign thrills fans of singers Elis Regina and Maria Rita by bringing together, through artificial intelligence, mother and daughter in the same film.
The advertising piece was launched on Monday night (3) at the convention that celebrated the 70th anniversary of Volkswagen in Brazil and has repercussions on social networks.
According to the automaker, the campaign used what is most modern to promote the encounter between the two generations. Deepfake technology was used to bring Elis Regina to 2023.
In the video, the two sing “Como Nosso Pais”, by Belchior, while driving on a road side by side. Elis appears driving a classic Kombi, while Maria Rita drives the recently launched ID.Buzz, an electric Kombi.
Present at the launch, Maria Rita cried when watching the video. “I fulfilled my dream. It was a magical moment,” she said.
The singer was only four years old when her mother died in January 1982, aged 36. Maria Rita used to say that she has few maternal memories. Elis also left the sons João Marcelo Bôscoli and Pedro Mariano.
In addition to comments from fans, several celebrities were moved by the digital meeting and spoke about what they felt.
“Beautiful is not enough,” said Father Fabio de Melo. “I had a little cry”, revealed presenter Sarah Oliveira. “What a beautiful thing,” said actor Silvero Pereira. “Very cool,” said singer Rogério Flausino. “Wow,” reacted singer Sandy.
Maria Rita, who celebrates 20 years of her career, performed songs immortalized by her mother, including “Como Nosso Pais”, in the show “Redescobrir”, in 2012, recorded on CD and DVD.
