Marcelo Serrado becomes a presenter and says his show is the biggest news on recent TV

Marcelo Serrado, 56, starts recording next month for the program that will start a new phase of his career. Actor and singer, he debuts as a presenter on Vamos pro After, a kind of musical talk show, created in partnership with Fernando Ceylão.

It is difficult for Serrado to define the format of the attraction, which will be shown in ten episodes, initially planned for Globoplay and Multishow. “It’s a totally original show,” he says. Basically, it’s a party with interviews and concerts. “And there’s also another party after a party, like a crazy ‘after’ party,” he says.

He’s excited. “Let’s go to After is a program that could not be done by anyone other than me because it has a lot of my DNA, it has a lot to do with me and with my way of welcoming people, of talking”, he explains. Because of the attraction, he had to give up the series “City of God”, from HBO Max. Already the telenovela “Beleza Fatal”, from the same platform, is confirmed. “I start recording in September. How was the reception at Globo for your project in partnership with Fernando Ceylão?

We recorded a pilot and they loved the idea, they approved the whole concept. There are 10 episodes, I believe they will be shown later this year. The show is a party with interviews, concerts and there’s also another party after a party, like a crazy ‘after’ party (laughs).

What does Vamos pro After bring new to TV?

The audience will be among the guests at a party, it’s a program with an unprecedented format… there’s nothing like it.

What is your role in the program?

I will talk with singers, sing, play the piano. I kind of drive the attraction, kind of a conduit.

So does the program make room for Marcelo Serrado as presenter?

Yes, but he has an acting side that is also very interesting. It is a program that could not be done by anyone other than me because it has a lot of my DNA, it has a lot to do with me and my way of welcoming people, of talking.

Do you think you can reconcile the program with other work planned for this year?

I will no longer participate in “City of God”, on HBO. Unfortunately, I don’t have a schedule. As for “Beleza Fatal”, everything is fine because we start recording in September, there are only 40 chapters and it’s a shorter format that has everything to work out. I play a doctor, the villain of the plot.

We are living a moment of light after a period of darkness and there is no way not to believe in this government. Honestly, I’m not able to give an opinion on this specific issue of environmental policy, but every manifestation is valid and I’m always in favor of discussing solutions. Lula is in power and that is happiness for us Brazilians. We have to believe.
