All of Pelé’s children reached an agreement to recognize Gemima Lemos MacMahon, the former player’s stepdaughter, as his socio-affective daughter. Thus, she becomes valid as one of the heirs of Edson Arantes do Nascimento, the King of Football. The inventory is currently in progress at the 2nd Family and Probate Court of the Foro de Santos, located on the coast of São Paulo. The information is from G1.

Gemima Lemos MacMahon is the daughter of Assyria and the sister of Joshua and Celeste. When Pelé married Assíria, in 1994, Gemima was still a child. Recently, she filed a request to be officially recognized as Pelé’s socio-affective daughter, with all the rights and privileges of an heiress.

The decision to recognize Gemima as heir was reached by consensus among the former player’s heirs, including children, grandchildren and his widow. In the document presented in the petition, lawyers Pythagoras Lopes de Carvalho Neto and Camila Monzani Gozzi stated that the other heirs and the widow recognize that Gemima and Edson “developed throughout their lives a relationship comparable to paternity, currently recognized by law, doctrine and jurisprudence Brazilian women as socio-affective paternity”.

wanted by F5, the Court of Justice of São Paulo (TJ-SP) informed that the process is under legal secrecy. Pelé passed away in December 2022, aged 82, after a battle with colon cancer.
