The Civil Police of Rio de Janeiro concluded the investigation into the death of actor Jeff Machado, 44, murdered on January 23. The Whereabouts Discovery Police Station (DDPA) indicted three men.
Appointed as the perpetrator of the crime, Bruno de Souza Rodrigues was indicted for eight crimes: triple-qualified homicide for futile reasons, asphyxiation and impossibility of defending the victim; corpse concealment; larceny; attempted larceny; theft; computer device invasion; animal abuse and false identity.
Jeander Vinicius da Silva Braga, who, like Bruno, is also in prison, was indicted for triple murder, concealment of a corpse and ill-treatment. Another man will also be held responsible for precariously housing Jeff’s eight dogs in a spiritist center.
According to information from the Civil Police, the investigation concluded that Bruno, who claimed to work as a producer for TV Globo, offered him an opportunity in a future soap opera and demanded that the actor pay R$ 25,000 to guarantee the vacancy. When he couldn’t fool Jeff anymore, Bruno opted to kill him.
According to investigations, the victim was doped, asphyxiated and strangled with a telephone wire. The body was placed in a trunk belonging to the actor himself and buried and concreted in the back of a property in the Campo Grande neighborhood, West Zone of Rio.
Jeander was responsible for transporting the body to the rented house and opening the hole where the trunk with the victim’s corpse was deposited. According to DDPA, Bruno still tried to sell Jeff’s car and made purchases with his cards worth R$ 7,000.
