Marília Mendonça’s brother apologizes to Naiara Azevedo: ‘I was tough’

by

The country singer João Gustavo, brother of singer Marília Mendonça, who died in a plane crash in November last year, used social media this Friday (21) to inform that the family authorized the release of the song “50 Percent” and asked apologies to singer Naiara Azevedo.

“Naiara Azevedo’s team came to us and understood our position against the release of a recording made after Marília’s death. A totally different video from what Marília had done in life, with an appealing tone of sadness and suffering”, explained João Gustav.

The singer said that his sister always brought joy and happiness wherever she went and this is the image that the family defends. “We were never against the release of the video made in life by Marília with Naiara, that was her will and it will be respected.”

João Gustavo admitted that he acted harshly with the singer Naiara and apologized for the criticism made publicly. He made posts on social networks criticizing the artist and in one of them he said that she entered Big Brother Brasil 22 to promote herself using her sister’s name. “I apologize for the untimely way in which I acted, harshly criticizing the artist Naiara.”

He explained that he lost his mind and acted impulsively when he saw his mother sad to learn of the video that Naiara wanted to release of the song recorded with Marília Mendonça. “Today, with a cool head, I recognize that I was harsh with my words and for not being committed to the mistake, I apologize to Naiara and all her team. It’s the last time I talk about it.”
