“Eyewitnesses” in the daily life of Thessaloniki for a good cause (pic)

by

Eighty color and four black and white photographs that “describe” moments from the life, pulse and rhythm of Thessaloniki include the exhibition “Eyewitnesses” which opens on January 29, 2022 at 18:00, at Chalkos Gallery (21 Ioustinianou).

With their journalistic look, Babis Giannakidis, Lazaros Theodorakidis, Christos Karagiannopoulos and Giannis Kessopoulos focus mainly on the event and the random moment.

“They try to radiate known and unknown aspects and moments of the city, with sensitivity and sharpened gaze, without a distinct or unified thematic basis: unexpected scenes from street life, fragments of familiar or unfamiliar everyday life, special atmospheric conditions, cultural events, architectural correspondences, find a hospitable place in this collective unit of images, in which the individual signature seems to be of less importance “, says in his note in the catalog of the exhibition the Curator at the MOMus-Museum of Photography of Thessaloniki Iraklis Papaioannou.

The exhibition is under the auspices of the Educational Foundation of the Union of Authors of Macedonia – Thrace, the Region of Central Macedonia and the Municipality of Thessaloniki and the proceeds from the sale of photographs will be used to support the Municipal Nursery “Agios Stylianos” in Thessaloniki.
