Xuxa rebuts criticism with documentary screening: ‘They say I’m victimizing myself’

With the end of “Xuxa, o Documentário”, the presenter took stock of the five episodes and the different moments that mark the production. The last chapter aired on Thursday (10) and addresses the beginnings of the modeling career.

The journey that lasted just over a month and celebrates her 60th birthday, completed in March, made her come under the spotlight once again, leaving room for criticism.

“I am still receiving affection from many people. People want to hug me, listen to things, but there are also people putting me down, saying that I am there victimizing myself. But putting it in the balance, the balance is positive”, he said in an interview with Meeting with Patricia Poet.

Xuxa started to parade in a club in Coroa Grande, a city on the coast of Rio de Janeiro where she spent her holidays, around the age of 15. It was also there where he suffered sexual abuse committed by a friend of his father. In the last chapter, she revisits the place alongside her daughter Sasha.

“It’s simply desperate because it’s something I didn’t want to go through, or talk about. Something I didn’t want to relive, or live. But it’s necessary, because it’s also part of me. I am who I am for the good, average, bad and wonderful things that I lived. Otherwise, I wouldn’t be where I am, “she said in an interview with gshow.

The presenter claims that the various traumatic moments left sequels that last until today, such as taking three showers a day, but that she cannot and does not want to put makeup on an open wound.

“Sometimes more [banhos] with loofah, rubbing me. And I always have to take a hot shower after sex. They are things that stayed. They are traumas, manias. These are things that make me see that I’m not like some people who haven’t gone through it, but I’m also like many who have.”
