Brazilian photographs Naomi, Linda, Christy and Cindy for the most important edition of the year of British Vogue

Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford, Linda Evangelista and Christy Turlington are reunited, after 33 years since their last shoot together, to star in the September issue of British Vogue. In 1990, the top four – alongside Tatjana Patitz – who died in January of this year – became fashion icons under the lens of Peter Lindbergh.

Now, in 2023, the four supermodels get together for the September Issue, considered the most important edition of the publication year, with the photographic eye of Brazilian Rafael Pavarotti. “My reaction when I was asked to be a part of this photo shoot was, ‘Is this really happening?'” Naomi said in an interview published by Vogue.

According to the editor-in-chief of the magazine, Edward Enninful, the inspiration for the images was to show how the girls – now all in their 50s – are in their lives. The idea is not to recreate the images of 1990, in which they appeared with hair blowing in the wind, in jeans and black blouses. Worry is reality.

“We are women – we were women then, but we were young women. Now we are fully women in our power, in our bodies, not going anywhere, and maybe we’ll be back in 30 or 40 years again,” exclaims Christy.

For Brazilians, the fact that Pavarotti registers these big names in fashion is very emotional. At just 29 years old, the man from Pará has already become a well-known name in the universe of fashion and music, taking photos for publications such as GQ, iD, Dazed and for Dior collections, in addition to having worked for names such as Harry Styles, Rihanna [e, mais recentemente, Beyoncé.
