With a union that began in 2004, the actors formalized their relationship in 2014 and, after two years, cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the breakup.
According to the website “In Touch Weekly”, Angelina not only signed the document but also agreed to go to mediation to resolve the lawsuits involving the former couple.
“They’ve spent a lot of money on these legal battles, including the custody fight. Angelina could have gone bankrupt and ended up being smart to cut her losses. It’s a big win for Brad,” a source told the report.
The case lasted for seven years due to the dispute over the custody of the children (Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh and the twins Knox and Vivienne), allegations of abuse by the actor and, mainly, the sale of Château Miraval, a property of 990 acres located in the south of France.
Pitt accused his ex-wife of selling the property without his knowledge to Russian oligarch Yuri Shefler. He filed two lawsuits and managed to annul the deal.
