Xuxa tells why the disc’s story backwards and ‘pact with the devil’ did not go into series

Long before the debut of the biographical series, Xuxa Meneghel had already announced that, despite uncomfortable subjects being addressed, some controversies related to her trajectory would be left out of “Xuxa, the Documentary”. This Wednesday (16), she spoke about one of the subjects vetoed in the program: the rumors of Satanism involving her name.

The presenter, who countered criticism about possible victimization in the production, said that she is irritated by the story of the supposed “pact with the devil” that she would have made, one of the most famous urban legends in Brazil. At the end of the 1980s, it was said that, when Xuxa’s first vinyl record was played backwards on the record player, her songs would bring satanic messages.

According to one of these theories, the demonic agreement would be the reason to sing “the guy from above”, in the lyrics of the song “Lua de Cristal”, instead of God. “Ilariê” would have an “evocation of the devil”, and so on. “I feel sorry for people who believe that, it’s signing below that they are stupid”, he commented, in an interview with Gshow.

The presenter continued: “‘Xuxa had a pact with the devil’. For God’s sake! How can I have a pact with the devil if I have the best in my life? How can they invent such a thing… contrary…. Any disc backwards is weird and you can put everything your imagination sends”, he said.

Xuxa said that he did not even talk about the subject with the director of the documentary, Pedro Bial, and believes that the journalist would not be interested in addressing the issue in the series, because he “has a different intellect” and can also be “a very good person informed”.

“Him putting this in the series is kind of saying like this: ‘Look at your stupidity, your stupidity made me stop to think for 10 seconds’… I don’t think he was going to waste his time with that”, he said.
