Brad for whom the bell tolls…
Jennifer Aniston – the “eternal” television Rachel from Friends – spoke about her personal life and the issue of harassment by Hollywood producers in a new interview.
Speaking to the Wall Street Journal, the 54-year-old star talked about how her parents’ relationship affected her own love life.
She confessed that after living through the relationship of her parents, who divorced in 1980, it was not easy for her to have relationships.
“It’s always been a bit difficult for me in relationships, I think, because I’ve really been kind of lonely. I don’t know,” Aniston said. “My parents, seeing my family’s relationship, didn’t make me think, ‘Oh, I can’t wait to do this.'”
He also added that she didn’t want to make changes to herself for the sake of her partner (for whom Brad tolls the bell), which has made the decision to stay single “easier” for her.
“I didn’t like the idea of sacrificing who I was or what I needed, so I didn’t really know how to do that,” Aniston continued. “So it was almost easier to just be solo. So I had no real training in this give and take.’
In 1998, Aniston began dating Brad Pitt and soon, the two became America’s favorite couple.
On July 29, 2000, they got married in Malibu and while initially, everyone was talking about a very happy couple who were going to have children.
But in October 2005, the divorce came and Aniston was devastated – at the time, Pitt was starring in Mr. and Mrs. Smith alongside Angelina Jolie, and the two actors were rumored to be hooking up, unbeknownst to Aniston.
After years Aniston was hurt by Pete’s infidelity and needed the help of psychologists to overcome it.
Finally, after 12 years, the actress managed to overcome her separation and in 2011 started a relationship with Justin Theroux. The couple got engaged on August 10, 2012 and married on August 5, 2015 and are still together.
“Not everyone is a Weinstein”
Aniston (Jennifer Aniston) emphasized that she has avoided the “cancellation tactic” saying that not everyone is in the same “basket” as former media mogul Harvey Weinstein.
The famous actress spoke about the issue, which refers to when someone is shunned after saying or doing something that is considered socially unacceptable.
“I’m over the cancellation culture,” Aniston told the Wall Street Journal. “I probably just canceled saying that. I just don’t understand what it means. Is there no redemption? I do not know. I don’t put them all in the same basket as Harvey Weinstein.”
Weinstein, 71, a former Hollywood producer, is currently behind bars serving a 39-year prison sentence for four counts of rape and one count of sexual assault.
While she said she had not been personally harassed by Weinstein, she recounted a time when he “came to visit me at a movie to make a movie for me. And I remember a person living in my trailer,” Aniston admitted.
Aniston currently stars in the hit Apple TV+ drama “The Morning Show,” the third season of which will premiere on September 13.
