“When I went through a difficult time at the beginning of last year, writing songs helped me understand my feelings and come to terms with what was happening,” said the famous artist
THE Ed Sheeran (Ed Sheeran) has announced that he will soon be adding his second new album to his catalog, due out in 2023… his second in six months, actually as it will actually be the seventh of his career. It is “Autumn Variations” which will be released on September 29th.
Like ‘-‘ (‘Subtract’), released on May 5, this follow-up was produced by Aaron Dessner, the National’s guitarist, who has also worked with Taylor Swift and Gracie Abrams.
“Last fall, I discovered that my friends and I were going through so many life changes. After the heat of the summer, everything either calmed down, stabilized, dissolved, peaked or collapsed,” Sheeran said in a statement.
“When I went through a difficult time early last year, writing songs helped me understand my feelings and come to terms with what was going on,” she continued, “and when I learned about my friends’ different situations, I wrote songs, other from their perspective, to capture how we saw the world at the time. There were many loves and new friendships amidst sadness, depression, loneliness and confusion.
My dad and brother told me about a composer called Elgar, who composed “Enigma Variations”, where each of the 14 compositions was about a different friend of his. That inspired me to make this album. When I recorded “Subtract” with Aaron Dessner, we clicked right away. We wrote and recorded non-stop and this album was born out of that collaboration. I feel it has captured the feeling of autumn so beautifully in its sonics and I hope everyone loves it as much as I do.”
