Miley Cyrus’ brother, Trace Cyrus, commented on his family. The 34-year-old musician was reportedly candid in a Q&A on Instagram Stories, where he talked about how having a “famous family” has affected his career.

While Trace said he loves his family “so much,” he believes his career might have been longer if he wasn’t a part of that family.

“I love my family so much, but I think I would be much more successful if I wasn’t part of a famous family. People immediately want to judge me and discredit all my hard work because of my relatives. But this is far from the truth. I got a record deal without anyone at my label knowing who I was involved with until we signed,” he wrote, referring to his former band Metro Station.

According to Entertainment Tonight, Trace – who previously dated Brenda Song and Demi Lavato – also spoke about the importance of protecting his relationships.

“After the publicity my past relationships have gotten, I’ve decided that any of my current or future relationships will be much more private,” the musician explained. “So even if I had a girlfriend, I wouldn’t tell you. Sorry”.
