Faustão says he doesn’t want to go back to TV: ‘It’s better to go out leaving nostalgia than to get bored’

Presenter Fausto Silva, 73, is recovering after a heart transplant at Albert Einstein Hospital, in São Paulo. According to him, the day he can go home and is already fully recovered, the idea is to invest in another type of work and not on TV anymore.

“I’ve already done my part. I’m not going back to television anyway. It’s better to leave feeling nostalgic than pissing off the public until I can’t anymore”, he told columnist Lucas Pasin of UOL.

A work in digital media is not discarded. “I want to do something for YouTube. I don’t know what yet, but it’s a possibility”, he amended.

The presenter had already appeared in a video released by the family on Instagram in which he thanked the audience for their support. He pointed out that he did not feel any pain and that he had recovered.

“I want to thank the manifestations of millions of people, praying and making mandigas, rooting for my recovery. My voice is a little hoarse, because I was intubated. I’m already walking, this left-hander is a monster, I don’t feel anything. So that people understand what which is the transplant.”

He even thanked the donor’s family, with whom he has a series of coincidences, and said he was “eternally grateful”. “I want to honor the memory of your son. Fábio, 35 years old, athlete and surfer, soccer player, who died naturally. It is thanks to his immense generosity that I am alive. The humblest people, when I needed it most, they gave me a new heart. Fantastic recovery.”
