Marcos Pitombo, 41, extended his stay in São Paulo, where he was to record a participation in a series, to check out the first night of The Town, this Saturday (2). “I filmed on Friday and decided to stay because there’s no way to miss it,” he says.

The actor, who recently ended his relationship with marketing director Iasser Kaddourah, said he is single at the festival. “You can enjoy the shows a lot, my friends that I haven’t seen in a long time, see what’s happening in fashion, music, and I think that’s worth it, right?”

Pitombo says he has received a lot of love from the public since he decided to go public with his sexual orientation. “I received a great welcome from people, I think that nowadays people respect those who have an attitude and those who are out there fighting to be who they are”, she evaluates. “The most important thing is that I didn’t feel alone.”

He says that having the profile of a heartthrob didn’t make “coming out of the closet” more complicated than anyone else. “I think for any LGBTQIA+ person nothing is easy,” he states. “But I think people’s respect is growing.”

The actor also says that he has not felt an increase in harassment from the male audience, not even on social networks – he says that he does not usually receive nudes from the most eager fans. “Actually, I think there’s a lot of affection there, and I’m very grateful for that.”
