Bruce Springsteen is postponing the remaining concerts he had scheduled for September as he undergoes treatment for “peptic ulcer” symptoms following doctors’ orders, as announced on his website.

The scheduled appearances were in Baltimore, Philadelphia, Albany, Syracuse, New York, Pittsburgh, Washington, Connecticut and Ohio.

Here at E Street, we are devastated to have to postpone these concerts” said the “boss” of American rock, in a statement posted on his website and social media. “We will be back to do these concerts a little later. Thank you for your understanding and support. We’re having a great time at our shows in the US and we’re looking forward to more great times. We will be back soon,” he concluded.

Springsteen, known for his three-hour concerts with the E Street Band –the band that plays on his records and tours—recently played three shows in his native New Jersey. They kicked off the 14-month 2016 River Tour from Tampa, Florida’s Amalie Arena in front of an enthusiastic crowd of 20,000 in February.

As the AP reports, the rock legend turns 74 on September 23.
