His album includes over 250 photos of more than 100 ballerinas from 19 different countries
Equipped with a Hasselblad 500CM, photographer David Teran he traveled the world to capture with his camera the beauty of ballet and collected the results of his tour in an impressive coffee table book entitled Hasselblad Ballet. The album, which is available on the Kickstarter platform, includes over 250 photos of more than 100 ballerinas from 19 different countries.

Utilizing his background in fine art photography, Teran was able to capture classical dance from a unique perspective; while the techniques of the dance are respected, his quirky photographs don’t just focus on ballet per se. “This project brings photography to the fore,” said Teran, speaking to My Modern Met.
“Although the ballet remains an essential piece, it takes on a slightly more subtle role, allowing the photo to shine. However, the integrity of ballet technique is preserved and respected, ensuring a beautiful harmony between the art of dance and the art of photography“, he added.
