Wynton is played by two-time Oscar-winning actor Anthony Hopkins and a younger Johnny Flynn
THE FilmNation Entertainment and Warner Bros. have released the official trailer for the highly anticipated film “One Life” by award-winning British director James Hawes. It is based on the true story of Nicholas Winton (Nicholas “Nicky” Winton), a young stockbroker who saved hundreds of children from the hands of the Nazis shortly before World War II.
Wynton is played by two-time Oscar-winning actor Anthony Hopkins and a younger Johnny Flynn.
Watch the trailer:
According to the official synopsis “Windon visited Prague in December 1938 and met families who had fled Germany and Austria, living with little food and under the threat of Nazi invasion. He immediately knew it was a race against time. How many children could he and his team save before the borders are closed?”
The film’s trailer opens fifty years later, in 1988, when Winton is live on the BBC’s ‘That’s Life!’ with an audience and the presenter begins to tell his story.
It is noted that Sir Nicholas Winton – who in 2003 received the title of Knight – passed away in July 2015, at the age of 106.
The film’s star cast includes, among others, Helena Bonham Carter, Romola Garai, Lena Olin and Jonathan Pryce, in a script written by Lucinda Coxon Coxon) and Nick Drake.
In a few hours it will premiere at the Toronto Film Festival and next month it will also be screened at the London Film Festival.
According to People it is due in UK cinemas in early 2024.
