Three days after announcing her sixth pregnancy, biologist Letícia Cazarré used social media to say that her youngest daughter Maria Guilhermina gave the family a scare this Sunday (10). The girl, who was born with heart problems, was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of a hospital in Barra da Tijuca, west of Rio, after experiencing difficulty breathing and high fever.
Letícia said that she ended up being woken up by her husband, actor Juliano Cazarré, during the early hours of the morning after the nursing technician drew attention to the girl’s breathing effort. The couple decided to take her to the hospital. “We arrive and we go to the ICU. Heading to the ICU for the seventh or eighth time… I lost count,” she said.
Hours later, Letícia said that her daughter was still hospitalized and was recovering. “Maria Guilhermina is improving,” she said. The girl was diagnosed with Ebstein’s Anomaly, a very rare heart disease even before birth. In just one year and two months of life, she underwent several surgeries and treatments against the disease.
Maria had been at home since March, when she was discharged from hospital after nine months in hospital. Letícia and Juliano Cazarré are parents of four more children: Vicente, Inácio, Gaspar and Maria Madalena.
