The legendary rock band Aerosmith has announced that it is postponing six stops of its farewell tour due to an injury to Steven Tyler’s vocal cords at last Saturday’s concert in Long Island, New York.

“It is with a heavy heart that I announce that I have received strict doctor’s orders not to sing for the next thirty days,” wrote 75-year-old Tyler on his personal Instagram page.

“I damaged my vocal cords during Saturday’s concert which led to bleeding. We’ll need to push back a few dates so we can come back and give you what you deserve.”

According to the announcement on social media the new dates are January 29th in Detroit, February 14th in Chicago, February 17th in Washington DC, February 21st in Toronto, February 26th at PNC Arena in Raleigh and February 29th in Cleveland .

The iconic band kicked off their ‘Peace Out’ farewell tour on September 2nd from the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, USA.
