Princess Martha Louise, eldest daughter of King Harald V and Queen Sonja of Norway, is marrying her shaman fiance, Durek Veret, as she announced on social media.

The wedding will take place on August 31, 2024 in the beautiful village of Geiranger, in western Norway, specifically at the historic Hotel Union.

“We are incredibly happy to be able to celebrate our love in the beautiful surroundings of Geiranger. It means a lot to us to gather our loved ones in a place that is so rich in history and intense natural experiences. It is the perfect place to embrace our love,” the couple captioned their Instagram post as they shared a photo together.

They also state that “the village is known for its impressive fjords and mountains. The fjords are on the UNESCO World Heritage List and represent the country’s rich culture and natural beauty.”

In a statement, King Harald and Queen Sonia said: “we are delighted to welcome Durek Veret to the family and look forward to celebrating the big day with them. We wish Martha and Verrett all the best».

As reported by Royalcentral, the couple follows the royal tradition and both the parents of the Scandinavian princess and her brother and heir to the throne were married in the same month.
