In each episode, Dimitris Skarmoutsos enters the kitchen and creates two delicious recipes.
The season begins with historical Varvakeio Agora in the center of Athens. A lively and bustling spot in the city where anyone can get great products at unbeatable prices.
In this place of great contrasts the tour starts from Hasapika Central Market. There, right next to the butchers in the market, the last thing one might expect is to be served sushi, and yet it happens! Parallel to the Hasapika Central Market, on some Sundays of the year the Symbosio Festival takes place in the same place, the most viral event in Athens with delicious food and parallel musical and visual activities.
The next stop is full of history and sweetness. On the ground floor of one of the most historic shops in the center, in the same space where the first pharmacy that opened in Athens was once located, is today “Krinos” with the famous loukoumades, one of the oldest pastry shops in the city.
The tour of the first episode concludes with a stop that is the logical conclusion of any walk in Varvakeio Agora, the souvlaki at “Volvi”! A small corner in Varvakeio with a Lilliputian menu of 2 options: pork skewer and sotsuki!
