In the interview, she admitted that substance abuse was leading her down a life-threatening path. “When you try to cover something, your feelings…you talked about giving up. You can’t cover her up. I was killing myself. It was very painful,” Campbell said and added: “My mistakes, I always admitted them. I chose to go to a rehab center. It was one of the best and unique things I could have done for myself at that moment. It’s scary to pick up the mirror and look at yourself….it took me many years to work through it and deal with it.”
