George Clooney wants to see a fair deal for Hollywood screenwriters and actors who have been on strike for months.

Speaking at the Digital X conference in Germany, the Oscar-winning actor expressed his support for the ongoing strikes by the Screen Writers Guild (WGA) and the Screen Actors Guild (SAG-AFTRA).

“Nobody wants to hear me talk about injustice, right?” Clooney said, in a video from the event. “Because I was lucky in my career” he emphasized.

“But our industry has 160,000 actors, for example who were struggling to make a living and many of them couldn’t… Well, you’re right to complain. I think we’ll get over it soon,” said George Clooney, among others.

Clooney also talked about the possible end of the strikes and what he would like to see as a result.

“We all support decent and fair pay. That seems fair,” the actor said, adding, “And I think a lot of actors who are very successful, over time, come on board to try to make sure we’re part of the solution and not part of the problem.”

On July 14, when the Screen Actors Guild SAG-AFTRA went on strike, joining forces with the Screenwriters Guild that had been on strike since May, Clooney told THR: “This is a turning point in our industry. For our industry to survive, it must change. For actors, that journey begins now.”
