Group Exhibition “Useless – Useful” Visual Arts Center G. Karydis

The Contemporary Art Group Exhibition with the theme “Useless – Useful” is organized at the “Karydeio” Exhibition Center in Filothei, with the support of the Municipality of Filothei Psychikos – OKAPA and the open artistic group AxionArt. A group of established and young visual artists investigates the two-way relationship between the Useful and the Useless, attempting to highlight creative transformations and reconstitutions of material objects, in a dialogue between art and functional environment. With references to arte povera and trash art, the artistic intervention works as a creative search for the new through the old in an era of social awakening in relation to the environment.

4th artist meeting: Artistic expression and creation in the archaeological site at the Plato Academy

Moment creative organizes the 4th artist meeting on the theme of artistic expression and creation in archaeological sites. This is the second part of a theme, which follows June’s discussion on artistic creation in the urban landscape. The aim of the 4th artist meeting is to focus on artistic and practical issues related to the creation of artistic works in archaeological sites in Greece. Invited speakers will be archaeologists and actors Efthymis Theou and Electra Angelopoulou. In their dual capacity, Efthymis and Elektra will talk about the experience of excavation as a starting point for an interaction with the respective local community, and about how the investigation of the archaeological material can be a basis for the creation of site specific works which they dramatically engage the present with the past.
