The first edition of the novel “The Hound of the Baskervilles” (The Hound of the Baskervilles) and her collection of short stories Agatha Christie “The Thirteen Problems” (The Thirteen Problems) once owned by the late Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watts broke two world records at an auction held yesterday by Christie’s in London.

Collectors were able to acquire rare books such as F. Scott Fitzgerald’s novel The Great Gatsby, first published in 1925, which sold for £226,800.

A first edition of ‘The Hound Of The Baskervilles’ sold for £214,200, a new world auction record for a book by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. In 2022, the author’s novel The Sign of Four sold for £165,279.

The rare copy of ‘The Hound of the Baskervilles’ from the Charlie Watts collection had a handwritten personal message from Conan Doyle.
