The winner of the 3rd edition of Masterchef, Leo Young, found himself in a tense moment this Tuesday (3). While traveling along Avenida dos Bandeirantes, in the south zone of São Paulo, the cook witnessed a shooting in the midst of a police action in full swing.
The report of the incident was shared by Young on his social networks, where the chef detailed the tense moments he experienced. “A shooting just happened in front of me,” he said, highlighting that he heard around ten gunshots.
He continued describing what happened. “They arrived shooting at the car, I didn’t know it was police because they weren’t all in uniform, civil police. They arrived shooting, ha, ha, ha,” he explained, imitating the sound of the shots. “I got stuck, I thought it was a movie scene. I don’t know, I didn’t understand.”
In a note sent to F5, the Public Security Secretariat stated that a 30-year-old man was arrested for stealing. “Civil police officers from the 2nd CERCO (Specialized Center for the Repression of Crimes and Miscellaneous Occurrences) were informed about a vehicle, involved in robberies and thefts from residences, that was in the region. (…) The driver disobeyed the order to stop and accelerated the vehicle towards the police car, resulting in an intervention. The suspect got out of the vehicle with minor injuries caused by shrapnel. He was taken to the hospital under escort and later taken to the police station”, says the text.
The SSP also reports that the car and weapon were seized.
