Isaac Bardavid, voice actor for Wolverine and Skeletor, dies at 90

Actor and voice actor Isaac Bardavid, famous for voicing the characters Wolverine and Skeletor, died at the age of 90, this Tuesday (1st). The death was confirmed on Instagram by João, the son of the voice actor, who shared a photo and a message.

“90 years, 11 months and 19 days. If I know the crown, he would say like this: ‘Take care of life, my son’. It is with this sentence that I write that our dear actor, voice actor, writer, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, today left for a spiritual plane”, wrote the son of the voice actor.

Bardavid was admitted in a serious condition to a hospital to treat complications related to a pulmonary emphysema. In previous posts on the social network, the voice actor’s son said that his father always had chronic lung disease.

According to João, the voice actor’s lung stopped oxygenating the body, even intubated. “The blood became too acidic (oxygen rate too low) and because of that the heart failed. Doctors tried resuscitation, but the body is already very tired,” wrote the son.

João wrote that his father always made others smile with jokes and was happy. According to him, Bardavid had been wondering for some time why he was still alive, as he lost many voice actor friends in this pandemic. “He was getting more and more sad and not understanding how young people were doing so far before him.”

The son pointed out that the voice actor is gone, but his works remain, m. “His voice is immortal as long as you remember him. Those who like reading can also have him with their books. His second book is due to be finished now in February. It’s sad to know he didn’t see his second book finished.”

João said that the book was his father’s favorite project and that he didn’t interfere in his choices, but now he will have to make decisions. “I will take the reins of the book project so that I can finalize the outstanding issues and give you more details.”

In 2017, actor Hugh Jackman, interpreter of the hero Wolverine, visited the voice actor in his passage through São Paulo. He posted a video with Wolverine’s voice actor. “[Ele] it’s so good”, said Hugh about the Brazilian, after having one of his phrases translated by him.
