Entitled ‘Ocean View’, this series he created with his analogue camera ‘captures’ the Kamezí restaurant, in Lanzarote
In his most recent project, David Altrath takes us on a journey to the Canary Islands through a series of architectural photos that exude a retro nostalgic feel. Entitled ‘Ocean View’, this series he created with his analog camera captures the Kamezí restaurant, in Lanzarote.
The soft geometry and unobstructed lines in these photographs, combined with the quiet color palette create an atmosphere imbued with sensuality and tranquility, bringing to mind carefree summer days.
The structures are bathed in shades of white that kindly contrast with the deep blue of the ocean and the gradually changing blue hues of the clear sky as well as the sparse green that characterizes this arid landscape.
Altrath’s ‘Ocean View’ explores not only architectural details, but also the balanced combination of nature and human creation. The photographer’s lens is attracted by the terrace overlooking the ocean, with a minimal design inspired by the island’s volcanic caves. This venue blurs the lines between ‘out’ and ‘in’, offering its guests a unique dining experience.

According to the photographer, Kamezí Deli & Bistró is not just a restaurant. It is a place where guests can enjoy refined seasonal cuisine using local ingredients and its photographs seek to highlight the architectural purity that welcomes guests to a serene oasis of flavors.
