After her name was talked about a lot during the week, Britney Spears decided to take a break from social media and deactivated her Instagram account. Until Saturday morning (21), the profile was not available.
This is not the first time that the singer has left the social network. In July this year, she left after saying she felt persecuted by the press. The artist is preparing for the official launch of her autobiography next Tuesday (24). Some excerpts from “The Woman In Me”, however, have already been released.
One of those that caused the most repercussion was Britney claiming that she got pregnant by Justin Timberlake and had an abortion after the artist said that they were too young to become parents. The two began their relationship in 1999, when Britney was 17 and Justin was 18.
According to TMZ, Britney says the procedure was done at home so the press wouldn’t find out. The singer allegedly ingested a medicine that caused her “intense physical pain.”
On Friday (20), she posted a statement on social media in which she stated that she did not want to offend anyone with her memories from 20 years ago, and clarified that everything was in the past.
“[O livro] gave me closure on all things for a better future. I hope I can enlighten people who feel particularly alone in most cases, or hurt, or misunderstood.”
