The Piraeus Group Cultural Foundation (PIOP), in collaboration with the PeZO Cultural Association and the Kallithea-Tzitzifion Oral History Group (OPIKA-T), is organizing an event on the use of oral testimonies in the theater, on Friday December 1, 2023 (7 p.m. :30), in the PIOP Building, in Tavros.
At the event, Dedes Tsoukas and Hara Georgiadou, founding members of OPIKA-T, will talk about the group’s activities from its foundation until today. It will be followed by Gogo Varzeliotis, associate professor of the Department of Theater Studies of the Greek Academy of Sciences, approaching the topic of the utilization of oral testimonies in aspects of the history and study of the theater.

Afterwards, members of the PeZO Association will present the musical theater performance “Others will speak”, based on testimonies of residents of Kallithea gathered by members of OPIKA-T. The event, which is coordinated by Chrysa Nikolaou, head of the PIOP Library, is accompanied by a relevant photo exhibition.
