Gigi Hadid apologized for spreading false information about Israel and its treatment of children. A few days ago he claimed that Israel is the only country in the world that holds children as prisoners of war, using the example of Palestinian Ahmad Manasra, who was arrested at the age of 13 by Israeli police and sentenced to 12 years in prison for stabbing two Israelis. However, her statement was criticized for spreading misinformation and anti-Semitism.

In a recent Instagram post, the famous model clarified her intentions and apologized for using the wrong example. He explained that he was trying to emphasize that Palestinian children who are arrested do not have the same rights as an Israeli child accused of the same crime. He argued that children, whether Israeli or Palestinian, deserve equal human rights.

My intention was to focus on human rights issues. That’s why I also want to reiterate that attacking any human being, which of course includes Jews, is never “ok”. Taking innocent people hostage is never ok. Hurting someone because they are Jewish is never “ok”. It’s wrongGigi Hadid said in her post.

The 28-year-old model, who is half Palestinian, has supported the Palestinian cause in the past. However, he has also condemned violence from all sides in the ongoing Israel-Hamas war.

I know people mean well, but when you say a kid was kidnapped, when it turns out he was a teenager who went out and stabbed two random innocent civilians, including a 12-year-old, on camera and then declared “I wanted to stab the Jews”… Let’s get the facts straight before we post to 78 million people,” wrote music mogul Scooter Braun, referring to Hadid’s follower count.

The famous model’s statement was welcomed by some, including Israeli supermodel Bar Refaeli, who had criticized her earlier post. However, others continued to criticize her for her views.

The ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict has resulted in the deaths of thousands of people, both Israelis and Palestinians. The recent hostage exchange agreement between Israel and Hamas was seen as a positive step towards ending the conflict, but many issues remain unresolved.
