Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s mansion in New Orleans will go up for auction

by

A historic 19th century mansion once owned by Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie will go up for auction. The luxurious property is located in the French Quarter, one of the most traditional neighborhoods in New Orleans, in the state of Louisiana, United States, and the starting bid will be US$1 million, approximately R$5 million.

Brad and Jolie purchased the property for US$3.5 million in 2006. After their separation in 2016, the mansion was sold for US$4.9 million through several owners, including the co-founder of Microsoft, Paul Allen. It was in this mansion that Pitt created the Make It Right foundation to help victims of Hurricane Katrina, which devastated much of the city, a year before the house was purchased by the couple.

Built in 1828 and renovated in 2017, the mansion has seven bedrooms, an office, five bathrooms, kitchen, living and dining room, as well as a guest house and a large leisure area with a swimming pool.

In August, Pitt and Jolie signed their divorce seven years after separating. According to the website “In Touch Weekly”, Angelina not only signed the document but also agreed to go to mediation to resolve the legal proceedings involving the former couple.

The case spread over the years due to the custody dispute over the children (Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh and the twins Knox and Vivienne), allegations of abuse by the actor and, mainly, the sale of Château Miraval, a property owned by 990 acres located in the south of France.
