The protagonist in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Sebastian Stanwill play him former US President Donald Trumpin award-winning Iranian director Hamza Abbasi’s new film, The Apprentice.

Rounding out the lead cast are Emmy and Golden Globe Award winner Jeremy Strong and actress Maria Bakalova.

As an “exploration of power and ambition in a world of corruption and deceit,” “The Apprentice” will focus on Trump’s early days in construction in New York in the 1970s and 1980s. It will also shed light on his relationship with notorious lawyer Roy Cohn, who was his mentor.

According to the film’s synopsis, it is about “a mentor-protégé story that chronicles the origins of an American dynasty” and “it reveals the moral and human cost of a culture defined by winners and losers».

Production began this week, and according to sources at Deadline, Jeremy Strong will play the famous lawyer, while Oscar nominee Bakalova will play Trump’s first wife, Ivana.

The script of the film is signed by the journalist and author Gabriel Sherman, known for the book “The Loudest Voice in the Room”, which was released in 2014 and presents the story of the founder of the channel “Fox News” Roger Ailes. The book was brought to the small screen in 2019, starring award-winning Russell Crowe.
