Taylor Swift still waiting for Kim Kardashian to apologize for leaking Kanye West audio

There is still confusion involving Taylor Swift and Kim Kardashian. The singer is still awaiting an apology from the socialite and her ex-husband, Kanye West, for the leaked audio of a conversation between the “Cruel Summer” performer and the rapper. Additionally, another recording involving the duo also became public, when West called Taylor a “bitch” in a song.

According to the website TMZ, Kim never recanted and Taylor already indicated among those closest to her that she would accept an apology from the businesswoman even after so many years. But under one condition: this would have to be done publicly.

In an interview with Time magazine, which named her person of the year, Taylor recalled her fight with Kanye West and Kim Kardashian in 2016, and said that the episode felt like a “career death”. The singer called the call recorded by Kim Kardashian a “completely fabricated setup”. “She edited it and then released it to tell everyone that I was a liar,” the singer began.

Taylor then continued to tell the story of the episode that shook his mind for years. “I moved to another country. I didn’t leave a rented house for a year because I was afraid of receiving calls. I pushed away most of the people in my life because I didn’t trust anyone anymore. I fell very hard,” he said.

The disagreements between Kanye and Taylor began in 2009, when the rapper interrupted the blonde while she was receiving the “Clip of the Year” award at the MTV VMAs. At the time, the singer snatched the microphone from her hand and said: “Taylor, I’m happy for you and I’ll let you continue, but Beyoncé made one of the best videos of all time!”

In 2016, Kanye released the song “Famous”, in which he directly mentioned Swift’s name and also stated: “I feel like me and Taylor Swift are still going to have sex / Why? I made that bitch famous”. When released, the song caused a sensation among Hollywood stars.

In defense of her husband, Kim published an edited clip of the conversation between the singers, claiming that Taylor was aware of and agreed with the content of the song. In March 2020, however, the full version of the recording was leaked and, at no point, West would have warned his professional colleague about the use of the word “bitch” in the song.
