Actress and singer Selena Gomez reached the trending topics on X (formerly Twitter) in the early hours of this Friday (8) after assuming, through social media, a relationship with music producer Benny Blanco.

On her Instagram, the artist published a selfie in which part of the composer’s face appears and drew attention when she made comments on posts from fan accounts that posted photos of the couple.

“He’s everything in my heart” and “yes, he’s still better than all the guys I’ve been with”, he commented. The singer even published a story with a ring on her left ring finger with the letter “B”.

Blanco is known in the North American industry for having produced tracks for Ed Sheeran, Rihanna, Kanye West and Justin Bieber, the singer’s ex.

But what caught the attention of fans were the responses given by the artist to criticism. To a Brazilian fan, she replied: “I don’t understand. If you really cared about me. This is me at my happiest. I will never let your words guide my life, ever. I’m done. If you can’t accept me in my state of greater happiness, then don’t be in my life at all.”

The artist countered another comment: “Ah, my love. I’ve been in therapy since I was 18. I know what’s best for me and I will fight until I get what I deserve. I appreciate your advice imposed on me, but I’m growing up. Don’t feel left out I want to grow up with me, just know that I won’t be with any asshole again in my life. Sorry to disappoint.”

Blanco is 35 years old, has more than a million followers and has been nominated for a Grammy 11 times. Pop songs such as “Tik Tok” by Ke$ha, “I Kissed a Girl” by Katy Perry and “Circus” by Britney Spears were produced by him.
