Ana Hickmann is committed to raising awareness about domestic violence. This Friday (8), the presenter used social media to publicize a walk, organized by the Women of Brazil Group. The demonstration will take place this Sunday (10), on Avenida Paulista, in São Paulo, starting at 9am. The Walk to End Violence Against Women and Girls is in its 6th edition.
The presenter of Hoje em Dia, on Record, embraced violence against women activism after being attacked and threatened by her then husband, Alexandre Correa, on November 11. According to the police report registered by the presenter, the businessman pressed her against the wall and threatened to headbutt her.
The presenter managed to escape from the businessman and when trying to call the police, he allegedly closed a sliding door with force, trapping the woman’s left arm, which was injured. When agents arrived at the couple’s home, Correa had already left. Ana was rescued at Santa Casa de Itu and, subsequently, escorted to the city’s central police station, where she registered the police report.
Hickmann filed for divorce and then filed a request for an urgent protective measure against Alexandre Correa. In conversation with the F5, Correa’s lawyer, Enio Murad commented on the request. “Ana Hickmann’s lawyers asked for a protective measure for an alleged firearm. They claimed that my client was carrying a gun and roaming around the couple’s residence. Which was not true,” he said.
