One stage, two pianos and the same person playing on both …simultaneously. This is not cloning, nor is it an optical illusion. It’s just another special performance given by Elena Xydia, this time with technology as her assistant.

This is the musician we have seen playing the piano in the air above the Tempe Valley, in the lake of Kastoria and in other parts of the country of incredible natural beauty. Her new venture, always with the director Paschalis Mantis by her side, requires her to play the piano with …herself and with other musicians who will be seen on stage, but will not be there in reality.

“The concert of a paradoxical world” will be presented on the stage of the Athens theater on December 27 at 20:00, while in mid-January the same performance will be given in Athens.

“It is a battle between two pianos, the real one, the live one, in which I will be on stage and on the opposite side, in front of me there will be a holographic piano, with a holographic Elena Xydia” the artist tells the Athens/Macedonian News Agency .

The two women, Elena Xydia and her hologram, will have an interaction with each other, in a performance entitled “The concert of a paradoxical world”. “This is not a concert or a musical presentation of a work. It’s a show with a beginning, middle and end,” he explains.

In addition to the communication she will have with her hologram, she will accompany her piano and other musical instruments that will be played by musician holograms. “It will be like watching a musical ensemble live in front of us, but in reality these people will not be there, they will be holograms, in full size. We will see a violin, an accordion, a flute…” he says characteristically and does not rule out the fact that the musicians themselves are among the audience, in the spectators’ seats.

The show will include music from both the international and Greek repertoire, which will evoke emotions and images in the viewers, since it will also “convers” with the technology. For example, when we play the “paper moon”, a huge moon will appear holographically next to it”, explains Elena Xydia.
