After months of speculation and accusations, Oprah Winfrey decided to be transparent about her weight loss journey, confirming that she has turned to medication for help.

In an interview with “People” magazine, the presenter admitted that she uses drugs as a means to prevent her weight fluctuations, following the trend of many other Hollywood celebrities.

The fact that there is a medically approved prescription to manage my weight and health feels like a relief, a redemption, a gift rather than something to hide behind and once again make fun of. I’m done taking the piss out of other people and especially myself“, said the famous presenter.

However, Winfrey did not reveal exactly what medication she took and whether it was indeed the type II diabetes drug ‘Ozempic’, which has become a favorite of many celebrities to lose weight.

Finally, the TV presenter confessed how much success she has seen with the drug, specifically mentioning that after Thanksgiving she only gained half a kilo, instead of gaining eight kilos like last year. At the same time, he stated that he has not yet reached the weight he wants, i.e. 72 kg, but he acknowledged that in the end “it has nothing to do with the number”. “I had a second chance at life,” he added.

It should be noted that the Smithsonian Institution honored the presenter for her “significant contribution to American popular culture” with a special portrait, which is on display at National Portrait Galleryon the first floor, from December 13.

The portrait, which measures approximately 1.8×1.8m, was created for the museum’s permanent collection and the artist painted Winfrey in a purple taffeta dress in the lush garden of her California home, among a dozen oak trees.

Through her rise as host and producer of “The Oprah Winfrey Show,” Oprah has demonstrated an unparalleled ability to connect with people and inspire them to be the best version of themselves.“, the director of the National Portrait Gallery, Kim Sazet, said in a statement.
