Actor Vin Dieselof the “Fast and Furious” franchise, is accused of sexual abuse by a former assistant in a lawsuit filed Thursday, Dec. 22, 2023.

The incident allegedly happened during the filming of the movie “Fast Five” in 2010, according to the lawsuit, which was revealed by “Vanity Fair.” Asta Jonasson she stated that the actor pressured her while she was working as his assistant. Hours after the alleged assault, he was fired, according to the documents.

Jonasson is suing the actor, his production company and his sister, who works as president of One Race Productions, alleging gender discrimination, a hostile work environment, retaliation and wrongful termination.

Jonasson’s attorney, Claire-Lise Kutlay, said in a statement that her client’s lawsuit seeks to make Diesel and others “allowed and covered up his sexual assault, accountable for their egregious actions.”

According to the lawsuit, Jonasson, who had experience working for production companies, was hired by One Race in September 2010 to work as Diesel’s assistant.

She immediately traveled to the set of “Fast Five” in Atlanta, where she threw parties and catered to the actor’s demands, which included staying close to him so he would have “cover” while he went to parties without his girlfriend, in case he was being photographed with other women.

One night, shortly after Jonasson arrived, the suit claims, Diesel’s security called her and told her he wasn’t answering the phone at the St Regis hotel. When she informed Diesel, the naked actor pulled her into his bed, the lawsuit states. Jonasson told him to stop and struggled out of his arms, according to the lawsuit, and eventually ran out of his bedroom.

The actor allegedly demanded her not to open the door and forcibly hugged her. She said in the lawsuit that she feared for her safety and her job. Diesel touched various parts of her body and forcibly kissed her while she begged him to stop, the lawsuit states, and tried to remove her underwear.

She screamed and ran to the bathroom, knocking the actor down, but he pinned her down with his body, pushing her against the wall, according to the complaint. The actor allegedly forced her to touch his mole, while she verbally refused, and then masturbated.

Terrified, Ms. Jonasson closed her eyes, trying to distance herself from the sexual assault and avoid angering him.,” the lawsuit states.

Hours after Diesel’s alleged assault, Jonasson received a phone call from Diesel’s sister, Samantha Vincent, terminating her employment with her despite receiving praise for her work, according to the lawsuit.

The message was clear. Ms. Jonasson was fired for bravely standing up to Vin Diesel’s sexual assault. Vin Diesel would be protected and his sexual assault would be covered up“, the lawsuit states.

Jonasson continued to work in film and television, but did not speak out for fear of being ostracized by an entertainment industry that “protects powerful men and silences survivors…”. She decided to speak out, feeling empowered by the movements #MeToo and Time’s Up as well as by the new legislation, the lawsuit states.
