Although Taylor Swift was already one of the biggest names in the music industry, in 2023 her career skyrocketed.

From being named ‘Time’s Person of the Year’ to making her ‘Eras Tour’ the highest grossing music tour of all time, the famous artist seems to have ‘transformed’ and is enjoying her success in a completely different level.

Within a year, Swift took the stage in 24 different cities, reached the level of a billionaire, became the artist with the most streams on Spotify – over 26.1 billion streams -, had 44 songs on the Billboard Hot100 chart and her movie ‘Eras Tour’ grossed over $250 million worldwide!

When Swift announced she would be re-releasing her old albums, she probably wasn’t expecting all this success. In 2023, she released the albums ‘Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)’ – originally released in 2010 – as well as ‘1989 (Taylor’s Version)’, which was released in 2014 and won her Album of the Year at the Grammys. While the original ‘1989’ was regarded as one of Swift’s best albums, ‘Taylor’s Version’ was her biggest seller.

Along with the two albums, Swift also released the song ‘You’re Losing Me’, which was a track from her 2022 album ‘Midnights’.

Swift’s decision to release the song – which reportedly describes her split from Joe Alwyn – came as a shock to many of her fans, given that the track was only available on a deluxe edition of the album.

Swift kicked off her ‘Eras Tour’ in March and was on stage almost every weekend through November, breaking records along the way. The concerts lasted over three hours, with 44 songs from 10 of her albums, 16 costume changes and thousands – if not millions – of friendship bracelets.

Forbes, like Bloomberg, estimates her net worth at $1.1 billion (double as of 2022), placing her as the fifth most powerful woman in the world, also being the first woman from the industry of the show that enters this ranking, while “People” declared her the most interesting person of the year.

This massive tour has caused earthquakes, both financial (it has grossed $1.3 billion and grossed an estimated $5.5 billion) and literal (in July, in Seattle).

During the year, the singer was nominated for 106 awards worldwide and won more than half of them.

Finally, as far as her personal life is concerned, this summer she started a romantic relationship with Travis Kelce, one of the most famous, powerful and richest players in the NFL (he earns 14 million dollars a year). This brought her to the center of media attention, an audience not her own. According to a Morning Consult poll from March, 53% of Americans say they are fans of Swift.
