The actor’s daughter Scout LaRue Willis shared a very sweet snap cuddling her father in bed amid his ongoing battle with frontotemporal dementia
Bruce Willis’ daughter Scout shared a sweet snap hugging the famous actor amid his ongoing battle with dementia.
Last February, Bruce Willis retired from Hollywood for good after it was confirmed that he was suffering from frontotemporal dementia. After that, the actor, who starred in the films ‘Pulp Fiction’, ‘Armageddon’, ‘Die Hard’ and ‘The Sixth Sense’, kept getting worse and his family and friends kept updating him on his health condition through social media.
Taking to Instagram on New Year’s Day, 32-year-old Scout LaRue Willis shared a series of snapshots and moments from 2023. And among the 10 photos she “uploaded” was the photo of her and her father hugging.
“Big year for me. Welcome to joy,” she captioned her post. In the sweet father-daughter snap, Bruce was seen lying on the bed while Scout rested her head on his chest while looking up at him.
Her fans, understandably, left their own comments on this particular post. “The picture is wonderful. Blessed is the love that surrounds your dad. It is so important to everyone. I hope we can give my mom something similar. My heart goes out to you. Happy New Year! Peace, love and empathy to all!”one fan wrote.

The actor married Emma Heming Willis in 2009 and they have two young children, Mabel Ray Willis, 11, and Evelyn Penn Willis, 9. The actor has remained good friends with his ex-wife, Demi Moore, to whom he was married from 1987 to 2000. They have three daughters, Scout, Tallulah and Rumer.

Bruce Willis is no longer able to communicate verbally. Despite this, the actor retains the memory of his current wife and daughters, whom he still recognizes. However, all indications are that he is unable to converse with them. Glen Gordon Caron, a friend of the Hollywood star, confirmed this in an interview with the “New York Post”. “My feeling is that within one to three minutes he understands who I am,” he said. “He used to like to read a lot of books, but now he can’t. All these language skills are no longer at his disposal. He’s still Bruce, though.”
