A few days before the premiere of “Mean Girls”, the final trailer was released by Paramount.

The film is based on the 2018 Broadway stage adaptation of the 2004 film from a script written by Nell Benjamin and Tina Fey, who is part of the production, directed by Samantha Jane (Samantha Jayne) and Arturo Perez J. (Arturo Perez Jr.).

As stated in the description, “new student Cady Heron (Angourie Rice) from Africa, who has just moved to suburban Illinois, is welcomed by the elite group of popular girls “The Plastics” led by Regina (Rene Rapp Rapp) and her minions.

However, when she makes the big mistake of falling in love with the chief’s ex-boyfriend, Aaron (Christopher Briney), she finds herself prey to Regina’s crosshairs. As Cady plans to take down the group’s top predator with the help of her friends, she must learn how to stay true to herself while navigating the most sinister jungle of all.”

According to People, “Mean Girls” is expected to open in theaters on January 12.
