Businessman Guillermo Rosas was removed from RBD. After several rumors of alleged embezzlement of money during the “Soy Rebelde Tour”, the five members of the Mexican group decided to remove their manager from command of the band. The person who first spoke about Rosas’ dismissal was Maite Perroni.
“We started a cycle with him, we were sharing with him the beginning of this entire tour, some shows, and then we continued”, highlighted the singer in an excerpt published by Hola magazine. “At this time we cannot make any kind of statement that would make such a claim [de desvio], we are just doing an administrative closure of the tour and then we can have more clarity about things. He is no longer part of the team,” he concluded.
Maite also spoke about speculation that Rosas had a preference for AnahÃ: “I think that’s already other people’s perception and it’s not important.” Finally, she assured that RBD does not intend to replace the former manager. “Nobody took Rosas’ place, in reality we were a society, only the society was changed, instead of six, we are still five”, she explained.
Rumors about the departure began when Anahà removed Guillermo’s company details from her Instagram bio. Then, Christopher Uckermann and even Andrés Tovar, Maite’s husband, stopped following the professional.
According to the Mexican press, fans reported that the businessman had embezzled approximately US$250,000 (R$1.2 million) through VIP packages that promised interaction with the band. The TV program “Chisme No Like” stated that Rosas did not present the invoices, in addition to not having passed on the money to the artists.
