What the top Greek director said – Bruce Springsteen’s reaction
George Lanthimos may have been one of the big winners of the Golden Globes, winning the prize for the best comedy with Poor Things, but when he stepped onto the podium he only had eyes for… Bruce Springsteen.
“I just wanted to talk to Bruce Springsteen all night,” Lanthimos stated, taking the microphone. “We have the same birthday – September 23rd!” he reported, while Emma Stone and the rest of the Poor Things cast laughed behind him. For his part, the songwriter smiled broadly and waved approvingly from his table.
“He’s my hero since I grew up” Lanthimos explained. “Anyway, I’m wasting my time…” he added, coming back to reality….
It is noted that Springsteen was nominated for a Golden Globe for the song “Addicted to Romance” from the romantic comedy She Came to Me, but lost to “What Was I Made For?” by Billie Eilish & Finneas O’connell for Barbie.
