Elba Ramalho takes the stage at Blue Note (west zone of São Paulo) this Friday (11) for a show in an intimate and acoustic format. The singer from Paraíba presents hits and responds to requests from the audience, accompanied by four musicians: Marcos Arcanjo (guitar and guitar), Rafael Meninão (accordion), Fernando Gaby (bass) and Anjo Caldas (percussion).
The repertoire mixes romantic songs and classics from the Northeast in the rhythm of forró and rastapé and approximately two hours of show. “Gostoso Demais”, “Aconchego”, “Dia Branco”, “Chão de Giz”, “Bate Coração”, “Sabiá”, “Banho de Cheiro” and “Frevo Mulher” are some of the hits promised by the artist.
“We will have intimate moments, but there will also be Carnival”, says Elba Ramalho to lineup. “I believe that the interaction with the public is the differential, the proximity to the audience brings complicity. I will rescue some older classics from my trajectory and answer the audience’s requests.”
There will be two sessions, starting at 8:00 pm and 10:30 pm. At the end of the first one, the audience leaves and another audience takes over the space. Tickets are available on the Eventim website for R$240.
Because of the Covid pandemic, the house operates with 30% of the public capacity, requires proof of vaccination and the use of masks, in addition to providing gel alcohol at all tables.
“Certainly, our return to the stage requires care, I have already made some presentations and health rules have always been respected. It is the way to our recovery”, says the singer.
The São Paulo branch of Blue Note, an iconic jazz club in New York, opened in February 2019, at the top of the Conjunto Nacional, on Avenida Paulista.
To the lineup, Elba even remembers that he has already passed through the headquarters in the USA, taking his Northeastern roots. “In the 90s, I did a season of shows at Blue Note, in New York. It wasn’t a forró show, Nelson Motta directed the show. It was a Brazilian music show”, she says.
“I keep singing and making Brazilian music, whether in São Paulo, Europe or the East. It may seem strange, but music has a really universal language.”
In São Paulo, Blue Note has already hosted on its stage names such as Stanley Jordan, Toquinho, Arnaldo Antunes, Hermeto Pascoal and João Donato.
However, much of the club’s life on São Paulo nights was interrupted by the pandemic, indicates the production. The house closed on March 17, 2020 and returned to work with a show by Anette Camargo, on November 5 of the same year.
Kiko Zambianchi played the last show of 2020 on December 19th. The resumption has been gradual and with care and took place almost a year later, on October 1, 2021, with Hamilton de Holanda on stage.
Now the club’s agenda is heated and there are already events scheduled over the next few months with Edgard Scandurra, Hermeto Pascoal, Pedro Mariano, Diogo Nogueira, among others.
