Marília Mendonça’s mother says she is ‘mutilated’ after receiving clothes her daughter wore

by

Mother of singer Marília Mendonça, who died in a plane crash in November 2021, Ruth Moreira received the clothes that the artist wore on the day of her death.

After the news was published by columnist Léo Dias, she left a message on the journalist’s account saying she was devastated. “There is no greater pain than burying a child, you are mutilated without anesthesia and you are bleeding to death or you are very attached to God to continue the mission for which he has assigned you,” she posted.

After the accident, Marília’s mother said she needed to stay strong for her grandson, Leo. In an interview with Fantástico, she commented on how she was feeling at that time.

“I cried a lot for two days, but I have my grandson, if he sees me crying he will despair. I would scream, you know? Scream inside, but then I would wash my eyes and go down to play with him, throw myself on the dog, play ball”, said she, who now has custody of her grandson shared with the boy’s father, singer Murilo Huff, 26.

Ruth said that Marília used to talk loudly and was bossy in the house, which sometimes led to fights with her younger brother, João Gustavo, “but all with a lot of love”. According to her, the pandemic period was very good for the singer to stay with her son, a time that might have been shorter without the suspension of shows.

“I’m going to stay strong and without touching her little things,” said Ruth, who said she would miss her by visiting her daughter’s room to smell the singer’s pillow or clothes. “If I hadn’t had the worst day of my life, it arrived. The moment is painful, but it will pass and I will miss it”, she said.
