Evaristo Costa, 47, remains hospitalized in the ICU of a hospital in the city of Cambridge, England, due to complications related to Crohn’s Disease. The presenter updated his health status on social media, where he has been showing part of his routine at the hospital since last Friday (12).
“After a new battery of exams and comparison of results, the discharge did not come”, he lamented. “But I’m still in the right place and in good hands! Ah, I’m free to move around the hotel, I mean, hospital.”
In videos published by him, it is possible to see the journalist interacting with nurses and playing with some situations experienced during hospitalization. The name on his bed, for example, was someone else’s. “Now, yes, I can sleep peacefully. Maybe during my sleep I was subjected to some procedure by the former user of this bed,” he wrote.
Crohn’s disease is an inflammatory disorder of the gastrointestinal tract. Evaristo Costa was diagnosed with the disease a few years ago. On Friday, he reported feeling severe abdominal pain, as well as diarrhea, fever and weight loss. “This all leads to weakness, fatigue,” he said.
The ex-Globo and ex-CNN Brasil also said that this ends up leaving his body vulnerable. “Low immunity leaves my body open for viruses and bacteria to enter, as happened to my leg a month ago. If I don’t take care of myself, I can have complications such as anemia and serious infections.”
In November, the journalist had to be hospitalized and the diagnosis was erysipelas, a type of skin infection on the leg.
